Get help for your child

Not everyone is born with the same ability or intelligence. Some children may need extra help to grasp what is being taught. Very often parents for various reasons are not able to provide this additional help. It does not mean that the child cannot receive it. It is totally acceptable and very often helpful to arrange private tutoring or supplemental program help for your child if you find that your child could use it. Many things taught in school are quite difficult to follow if a child has not understood the basics in Math or English. These two subjects are the stepping stone and fundamentals to every other subject and a good knowledge of both will go a long way in helping children do well in most subjects that follow.

These are the two areas in which Pinecone Learning Center provides help at their tutoring center in San Jose. The Math program is designed to achieve mastery of computational skills. Mastery equals confidence, speed, and accuracy. The reading program includes an early comprehension series designed to promote reading for meaning. They have now opened a new tutoring center in Los Gatos.

You can find out more about the Math Program and English Program by visit their websites at http://www.pineconelearning.com/ and http://www.mathtutorsbayarea.com/ . Benefits of private tutoring

A one-to-one lesson is always more beneficial than a 1-to-15 or 1-to-20. A one- to-one lesson caters to an individual child’s needs and is changed and increased or decreased according to a child’s ability. There are many benefits to private tuition.

1. Students are more confident as a result of private tuition.

2. Students quite often are ahead of their peers as they understand faster with the individual attention given them.

3. Students understand their foundation skills better and this helps them do better in other subjects.

4. Work and study is regular and this routine helps them stay focused.

A good reading program in a tuition center helps overcome the various challenges in the use of the English language. Children need to know oral and written English as English is the most widely used medium of communication in the world. Students need to be able to compose in the English language. Children should also be taught how to comprehend the written language. Pinecone Learning Center, a tutoring center in San Jose has a great reading program which helps children in all these areas.

Make sure that your child learns the basics

A child is expected to understand the basics of Math and English before she/he leaves middle school. Many schools do not test the abilities of a child until a much later age, and so children who have not understood the basics find it very difficult to cope with studies later. Parents should keep an eye on the progress of their child and meet the teacher once in a while to find out how their child is doing in school. If you feel that your child needs help in Math or English, it is better to provide it now than try to rectify later.

Check out the reading program and math program that Pinecone Learning Center, a tutoring center in San Jose and now in Los Gatos have created to help children go through graded levels in both subjects until they understand the basics. The lessons are designed to cater to every child’s individual needs, and only when a child gets through one level will he or she be progressed to the next. This helps the tutor, the child and the parent to be aware of the progress being made.

Children from Pinecone Learning Center have done very well academically and Ms. Hobbs, the owner and tutor has been recognized as one of San Jose’s finest tutors. Tutoring is a good decision

Parents can quite often be the worst teachers. They may be teaching their child with the best of intentions but may not be doing it the right way and not consistently. When the child’s grades start falling, the parent gets all worked up and they end up trying even harder. It is a no-win situation, which turns out to be frustrating for both the parent and the child. The parent does not understand why the child is unable to understand something so simple and the child starts feeling less confident and makes more mistakes while trying to please the parent.

Enrolling your child in a tutoring center does not mean that you have failed in some parental duty. You are actually making a good decision in regard to your child since a tutoring service like Pinecone Learning Center ensures that the child understands the basics before moving on to higher levels. The advantages of a learning center are that they are consistent and have no pre-conceived expectations from your child. They evaluate the child and start at a level comfortable to the child. Another advantage is you have their studies covered and you can spend quality time with your child.

Pinecone has an excellent Math Program and a Reading program, which have been created after a lot of research and study in teaching methods and order of difficulty that the child will be faced with as they progress from one grade to the next. The programs are both based on K-12 standards. Visit their website at www.pineconelearning.com or call (408) 270-4548 for more details.

Let your child set the pace

Pinecone Learning Center is a learning center in San Jose, which is well known for its dedicated tutors and their systematic work schedule. They have a math program and a reading program which has been designed to cater to every child’s unique needs. It progresses upwards in terms of difficulty. Your child will be evaluated and then the decision will be made on which level he or she will start. Do not get disheartened if your child is starting at a lower lever than his/her peers. It is better to start the child at a level he/she is comfortable in to feel a boost in confidence.

Some children may not have gotten their basics right and the tutors would prefer to spend some time addressing this before tackling more complicated levels. Do not compare your child’s work with her/his peers as the experienced tutors at Pinecone believe in letting the child decide the pace. But you can be rest assured that your child actually understands what he/she is learning and will start to enjoy the subject. You will see the results very soon as the grades start rising.

Visit their websites atwww.pineconelearning.comand www.mathtutorsbayarea.com . You can call the owner and principal tutor Vivian Hobbs at (408) 270-4548 to fix an appointment.

Avoid rote learning

Some children, who had breezed through lower classes, start doing badly and end up bringing home bad report cards which each passing grade. Parents often wonder what went wrong and where. The culprit is usually rote learning. In the younger classes, children learn lessons by rote and for a while this works as the amount of study material is pretty small. But as they grow and go on to higher grades, they are unable to keep it up as the amount of study material becomes vast.

Don’t let that happen to your child. Make sure that your child gets the basics right. Once the foundation is laid, your child will be able to understand the subjects, even as they get more complicated. Pinecone Learning Center is a tutoring center in the Bay area that has a great reading program which includes an early comprehension series designed to promote reading for meaning. The vocabulary program, beginning in first grade, creates challenging activities to advance and strengthen basic language skills. They take a direct approach to grammar beginning with first grade work. The entire program blends together to help the child understand and appreciate the language.

The Math program is designed to achieve mastery of computational skills. The Math program consists of over 160 weekly booklets arranged sequentially from beginning number sense through geometry. You can get more details at their website at www.pineconelearning.com. If you would like to meet the tutor before enrolling your child, call (408) 270-4548 to fix an appointment.

A steady pace wins the race

Children learn in unique, different ways and at their own pace. So what works for one child may not be the best for another. In a classroom, teachers quite often find it difficult to cater to every child’s unique needs and so they take the middle route and create a syllabus that is aimed at an average child. But what happens is that a child, whose learning pace is slow, falters. Many teachers who are passionate about teaching try to help the slow learner with extra classes and more practice. But it is difficult with an added burden and the teacher may not be able to consistently give the attention the child needs.

Pinecone Learning Center is a tutoring service in San Jose and is a good place to get your child some extra homework help. They have a very good reading program and an excellent Math program. The lessons are created in such a way that it caters to every child’s unique learning needs. The lessons are made in an ascending order of skill and the child will start at the level that he/she is comfortable in. Only when that level has been mastered will they move on to the next level.

Pinecone Learning Center provides sequential programs, expert guidance with caring tutor assistants and a learning-friendly environment with daily work that is tailored to your child. You can call (408) 270-4548 to make an appointment to meet the tutor. To get more details on this tutoring center visit www.pineconelearning.com

What is your child’s mood today?

Every day is a new beginning, especially for a child. As they grow from day to day, every small change reflects in other aspects of their life. If a child has a good day at school, then it is a cheerful child that comes home. If a child has had a bad day at school, it could be a moody and grumpy child that comes home. The child’s study habits will also reflect the day they are having. A friend moving away to a new school, a new teacher, new classmates, any small thing can change the mental and emotional aspects in a child’s life.

Even life at home will reflect on a child’s academics. If it is a peaceful day in the house, the child goes about his/her work happily. If there is some disturbance in the home atmosphere, it reflects on the child too. A tutoring center where the ambiance is constant everyday may help a child, especially one who is sensitive to changes. The consistency of a learning center and instructor, help the child focus on the work at hand. Pinecone Learning Center is a tutoring center in San Jose which is well known for its English Program and Math program.

This learning center offers free placement testing and orientation. You can call

(408) 270-4548 to make an appointment! Allow about 30 minutes for the meeting including registration if you wish to start immediately. Getting ahead in English

Learning English is not just about learning spellings and meanings. It involves grammar and comprehension and many other parts. Sometimes, just English lessons at school are not enough to help a child better her/his English skills. A child needs constant and consistent help to improve vocabulary, comprehension and grammar. Some strategies that help in improving English skills include reading aloud as this will help the child with their listening skills. Having conversations with the child and writing on various topics will also go a long way.

Pinecone Learning Center has a very systematic method in improving a child’s English skills. They have a Reading Program which includes an early comprehension series designed to promote reading for meaning. These beginning comprehension booklets provide a variety of exercises while developing new vocabulary. The curriculum continues with more advanced comprehension that contains great variety in subject matter.

You can find out more about their reading program at http://www.pineconelearning.com/reading_program.html. They also have a systematic Math program which is designed to help your child learn Math in a systematic, sequential way. You can learn more about their Math Program at http://www.mathtutorsbayarea.com/. You can call this learning center in San Jose at (408) 270-4548 to schedule an appointment to meet with Ms. Hobbs, the instructor.

Tutoring helps

Are you one of those parents who feel that just because your child is in one of the junior classes, it is "okay" if their grades are not too good and that "they will catch up eventually…..just give them time"? It is a well meaning attitude, but you may be doing more damage than good. Many of the foundation skills for most subjects that your child will be learning later in life are built in the lower classes and if your child has not understood the basics well, he/she may struggle later with their lessons.

Not all children need tutoring services at a young age but it would be a good idea to touch base with the teachers from time to time to see how they are progressing. You could also sit with your child while they do their lessons and you will be able to figure out if they need extra tutoring help. All children learn at different levels and at different speeds. Sometimes a child may not be up to the level they should be at their age. Pinecone Learning Center is a tutoring service in the Bay Area which provides tutoring services in Math, Reading and Comprehension

Their Math Program and Reading Program have been created after a lot of research with a follow-an-easy method and consistent pattern, where levels are gradually made more difficult so that the child can progress at his or her pace from one level to the next. You can call this learning center at (408) 270-4548. Visit their website at www.pineconelearning.com for more information.

Excelling in reading comprehension

A large part of our life is spent reading, if we just stop and think about. We read through kindergarten, school, college and work. The basis of reading and understanding vocabulary is strengthened at the grass root level. My daughter Shea needed some coaching during the early part of her school years, so that she could excel in reading comprehension and other subjects at school. Reading is not just meant for understanding the English language but is used as an active mode for teaching concepts and general knowledge in other subjects like math, science and history to name a few. So I decided to enroll her in a reading program that helped her improve her vocabulary and understand grammar concepts.

Improve with grades with tutoring

Pinecone Active Learning Center in San Jose was the place Shea joined when she needed some extra homework help after school. She is now a straight “A” student and is a star in reading comprehension at the 6th/7th grade level. Her writing is winning her recognition from the school principal and she has been chosen with a couple of other 4th grade students to a higher math level in school. Thanks to the efforts of her teacher and mentor Vivian Hobbs from Pinecone Active Learning Center, Shea and I are grateful that the reading program is impacting her school life in such a positive way.

If you have kids and would like them to learn how to read the right way and not just as part of a curriculum, don’t hesitate to enroll them in this school tutoring center. They can be contacted at (408) 270 4548. You can also visit http://www.pineconelearning.com for more information on admission procedures and class timings.
